About Magenta.....

Having grown up surrounded by signage of all shapes and sizes I was interested in fonts and designs from a very young age. My father and grandfather both had their own successful sign businesses - with my Dad, a professional glass blower, specialising in neon. I loved everything about it - the shapes, colours and scale, and to this day I can still spot some of their signs dotted over Scotland.

For over a decade now my work and passion continues to be weddings - tie this together with my love of lettering and Magenta Ink Calligraphy was born!

I love nothing more than a sunny afternoon with my paints and calligraphy pens, creating a new design or working on a commissioned piece.

Whatever you have in mind I would love to bring to life.

We are often asked to create bespoke watercolour pieces for use in brochures and for online content. This piece was created for The Dalmahoy Hotel Christmas 2023 brochure and for use on their social media.

Starting with an idea we will put together some initial sketches and will show you as we progress to ensure the right outcome for your own designs.

We have created various handwritten menus, from these individual breakfast items to coffee shop menus and blackboard signage. If you have something in mind we would love to chat about it.

Our pens love an outing and we can set up a personalisation station for any event. Calligraphy is not limited to paper either - we can write on almost anything from gift boxes and candles through to shells, mirrors and baubles - we love a challenge!
